Oct 2019 – Markdale, ON – The International Ice Cream Consortium (IICC) presented Chapman’s with two prestigious awards: Gold for the launch of their new Yukon Caribou Ice Cream Bar and a Silver for the company’s most recent energy conservation efforts. This year’s conference was held in Stockholm, Sweden in October and hosted industry leaders from 15 countries.
Chapman’s inspiring Yukon Caribou Ice Cream Bar campaign grabbed the attentional of the IICC this year receiving the Best Commercial Solution Award. It is focused on supporting Caribou protection programs across Canada and creating awareness about the ongoing deterioration of Canada’s wildlife. A portion of the proceeds raised from the sale of Chapman’s Caribou Bars will be donated to Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS).
“PR campaign for Caribou product launch by Chapman’s Ice Cream was awarded Best Commercial Solution at 2019 IICC Conference Awards Ceremony due to its uniqueness, high media impact and cost effectiveness and the reinforcement of core Chapman’s values of deep sense of national belonging and Corporate Social Responsibility focused on environmental concerns,” said Alex Balaguer Pfeiffer, the president of the IICC.
Chapman’s also took second place in the Best Technical Business Solution category for its internally developed application to curtail energy consumption during times of peak demand. This program is one of many efforts undertaken by Chapman’s to enhance their environmental sustainability.
This is not the first time Chapman’s Ice Cream has been recognized as one of the world’s industry leaders. In 2016, Chapman’s received three international awards, including Best Ice Cream, Most Innovative Ice Cream, and Ice Cream Maker of the Year. “I feel like true creativity is at the heart of the IICC. Experiencing the passion each country has for their region and their ice cream is inspiring to say the least, and results in a higher standard of excellence from Chapman’s,” commented Ashley Chapman, VP of Chapman’s Ice Cream.
