Giving back to our community and our country

Chapman’s Ice Cream owes our success to the generations of Canadians who have grown up with our ice cream and frozen treats. Our company is grateful and proud to be able to give back to our country and our community in every way we can.

Here are a few highlights from our community initiatives.

Protecting Canada’s Wilderness

In April 2019, Chapman’s pledged to donate 25 cents from the sale of every box of Yukon Caribou Bars to the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) in support of ongoing Caribou protection efforts.

Saving Local School

When a rural school in the Municipality of Grey Highlands was threatened with closure, Chapman’s joined the fight to keep the doors open. We joined negotiations with the school board and local government and committed to donate $2M to save the Markdale school.

Markdale Hospital

Chapman’s is committed to supporting our local community by contributing to local infrastructure projects. That is why we completed a $1M pledge to the new Markdale Hospital.

Local Hospice

Chapman’s donated $1M towards the construction of a new palliative care facility in Owen Sound, now called Chapman House. In addition, a number of our employees voluntarily deducted from their pay cheques to donate towards the ongoing operational costs of Chapman House.
