Farewell Kids Club
Markdale, ON – After 20+ years, a quarter of a million Canadians reached, and over 700,000 prizes issued, Chapman’s Ice Cream is sunsetting its online Kids Club gaming hub. KidsClub.ca website games will be shut down on May 3, 2022. Existing subscribers will be able to claim their earned points for prizes until July 1, 2022.
At its inception in the year 2000, Kids Club offered interactive games and activities online that were at the forefront of technology. Throughout its lifetime, Kids Club games were played by Canadians over 27 million times! With the prime years of online gaming in the past and the rapidly evolving technological landscape, mobile and console gaming now reigns supreme.
Rather than compete in the mobile app and gaming space, Chapman’s plans to redirect its focus and utilize resources to develop engaging contests, support educational programs and literacy initiatives. These efforts best align with Chapman’s mission of supporting communities across Canada, youth and young families. Current initiatives include a national book club that provides teen girls with thought-provoking books by Canadian authors, collaborations with Habitat for Humanity and Food Allergy Canada, as well as many giveaways and contests.
“Our focus has always been on Canadian families, youth and communities, and we hope to continue doing so in ways that truly matter to Canadians and benefit new generations,” said Ashley Chapman, VP Chapman’s Ice Cream.
After the Kids Club characters say ‘farewell’ on May 3, 2022, existing users of Chapman’s KidsClub.ca can claim their earned points for prizes until July 1, 2022. Prizes will be fulfilled within 6-12 weeks as a high volume of requests is anticipated. Beyond the shutdown of Kids Club, Chapman’s beloved prizes will continue to be offered through social media contests and via Chapman’s Club email subscription. To be eligible, follow and like @ChapmansIceCream on Facebook and Instagram, and subscribe to Chapman’s Club at chapmans.ca.
Chapman’s wants to thank the hundreds of thousands of Canadians they have reached and entertained through Kids Club and looks forward to continuing to connect with families and communities in meaningful and engaging ways.
