Title: Production Planner
Department: Production
Reports To: Director of Operations

Job Summary:

The Production Planner will work with the production, purchasing, and sales teams to develop production schedules that align with product demand, customer expectations, and facility capabilities/constraints. The role will focus on planning in the mid-to-long term but will also work closely with the Production Scheduler to resolve issues and to ensure that short-term schedules align with overall production plans.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop production schedules for mid-to-long term time periods (4 weeks to 6 Months+) using internal resources and information.
  • Work with the Production Scheduler to ensure short term schedule aligns with the overall production plan and help problem solve issues as they arise.
  • Analyze future demand, manufacturing constraints, production capacities and be able to escalate areas of concern.
  • Develop and maintain “off season” build plans to mitigate seasonal constraints.
  • The production planning team acts as a nexus of multiple departments within the organization.  The production planner must be able to work with a wide variety of positions and people to prioritize and act on requests/requirements as they occur.
  • Work with Management and ancillary departments to further develop tools and the role within the company. Previous experience in system implementations and project planning tools will be preferred.

Position Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role in a fast-paced production environment
  • Excellent computer literacy skills
  • Advanced Excel skills for data consolidation and analysis
  • Previous experience with ERP systems, specifically Syspro, strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Candidate will possess excellent organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Action oriented, able to take ownership of tasks and execute upon objectives in a professional manner

Compensation: This is a salaried role with a starting range of $60,000 to $74,000 per year.
