Title: Senior Costing Accountant
Department: Inventory/Costing
Reports To: Manager of Inventory/Costing

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Costing Accountant to join our fast-paced team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily costing activities, performing job cost analysis, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate tracking of inventory and production costs.

Job Duties

  •  Perform detailed job cost analysis for mix and finished goods production
  • Prepare daily telemarketing inventory count sheets
  • Generate shunt lists to support inventory balancing at the distribution facility
  • Coordinate outside storage loads and purchase order pickups for finished goods
  • Prepare and present cost reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Create and maintain bills of materials (BOM) and update standard costs as required
  • Work closely with the Costing Manager and other team members
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure accurate inventory and cost tracking

Position Requirements

  • 2–8 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Adobe
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Syspro or Solochain) is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of costing principles, inventory management, and production processes
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
  • Professional designation such as CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) (or equivalent, e.g., CMA (Certified Management Accountant)) is considered an asset

Compensation

At Chapman’s, compensation is guided by a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes and rewards individual contributions.

Salary Range

$75,000 to $85,000 annually, based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
