Title: Production Supervisor

Reports To: Production Manager/Plant Manager
Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising, guiding, and coordinating the activities of production employees and peripheral departments during assigned shifts, including off-shifts. This role drives productivity and efficiency on designated production lines while ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and quality assurance practices. Production Supervisors will work a day/afternoon rotating shift, rotating every 2 weeks or a straight night shift, Sunday night to Thursday night.
The Production Supervisor also serves as a backup to Production Managers, Sanitation Supervisors, the Flavour Supervisor, and the Assistant Production Manager as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate production employees and support departments
- Drive productivity and efficiency on assigned production lines
- Ensure compliance with:
o GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)
o HACCP requirements
o Sanitation and allergen control programs
o Occupational Health & Safety regulations - Act as evacuation/emergency team leader when required
- Conduct line verifications after cleaning
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Monitor, assess, and coach employee performance
- Mentor Lead Hands
- Assist on the production line as required
- Produce accurate daily shift reports, addressing concerns and corrective actions
- Serve as backup for HACCP duties and responsibilities
Position Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of in-house production processes (ice cream, dairy, food manufacturing)
- Experience managing people and production processes
- Strong understanding of food safety and quality systems
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- First Aid certification preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous record-keeping and attention to detail
- Strong decision-making ability
- Good computer proficiency
- Excellent attendance record
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of production equipment and processes
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (with assistance)
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
- Average work week of 44+ hours

Compensation: This is a salaried role with a starting range of $65,000 to $78,000 per year.
